Knox Harvey

Knox Harvey joins KEI from Southern Illinois where he was surrendered to the shelter by his family. His euthanasia date was set and after hearing good things about him, we bought him a ticket North.

Knox Harvey is 60 lbs, est. 4 to 6 years old, a mixed breed, with Great Pyrenees being dominate.  He has a rich white coat with black accent markings.  His rear double dew claws are intact.

Knox Harvey is currently being fostered in Shorewood, Wisconsin.

K9 Enrichment Initiative fosters and adopters must be within 90 miles of our home base in Naperville, IL.

How to adopt a dog from K9 Enrichment Initiative, Inc.

1. Complete our online application.

2. Your application will be processed, including a vet, reference, and criminal background checks. A telephone interview will be conducted as well as an in-home visit.

3. The dog will be introduced into your home for 14 to 21 days, allowing time for adjustment. At the end of that time, if the match is perfect for the family as well as the dog, an adoption contract is signed.

We have a $400 donation fee for dogs under 1 year, $350 for dogs years 1 to 6 and $250 for dogs 7 and older.

Applicants must be 21 years of age, be financially able to support the dog’s everyday needs as well as medical expenses, be physically and mentally capable of caring for the dog.

Applicant must have knowledge of breed of dog they are applying to adopt and of any breed restrictions in their cities, buildings, neighborhoods.

All our dogs have had a CBC, lab tests for parasites as well as Heartworm and Lyme disease. Are current on their vaccinations including rabies. Each dog is verified healthy prior to adoption.

We share all behavioral, training, history and medical records with you on the dog.
