Meet Trooper and Patches, 10 month old littermates looking for a foster or foster to adopt family’s. They do not need to stay together despite their love for one another as they have been kenneled together for 6 months now.
They were abandoned with littermates in SE Missouri, severely neglected and underweight. Our shelter partner brought the two boys home and the other 4 dogs went to other rescuers. She fattened them up, the fur regrew and the parasites are gone.
The two of them are affectionate, loving, gentle, sweet natured dogs who would love a family to share a life with. They are dog social, child approved, and as mentioned people friendly.
They do need basic manners’ training and the rescue will provide classes as part of their adoption at this time.
We brought them north to Plainfield hoping to have foster’s for them, but no one stepped up and the other choice was to leave them living in an outdoor kennel together with no interaction. We couldn’t watch them sitting, waiting and begging to get out. Unfortunately, without a foster they are now in boarding at our vet’s hospital. The danger of being euthanized is gone, but the solitary life continues to a large degree.
They take walks to The Home Depot to stay sharp on their socialization skills, or walks in the forest preserve to get their sniff on, but it’s not enough. They need homes where they can be companions and use their super powers to change a family’s lives.
If interested in giving them a foster home or foster to adopt home, please inquiry at info@k9ei.dog for further details on how to make that happen.
